PGR (Power Gauge Rating)
The Chaikin Power Gauge Rating (PGR) is the core of the Chaikin Analytics system. It combines 20 factors into a simple, reliable indication of a stock’s potential performance relative to the market over the next 1-6 months. The PGR model looks at the following components: financial metrics, earnings performance, price/volume activity, and expert opinions. More about the PGR here.

The PGR consists of twenty Factors with proprietary weightings, the Factors are listed here in the Terms list.

Power Bar
A breakdown of the stocks within a group by Bullish, Neutral, and Bearish Power Gauge Ratings. The groups include industries, User Lists, ETFs, Indices, and Chaikin Hot Lists, as found on the List Navigator. The Power Bar Rating looks at Bullish stocks as a percentage of top rated stocks in the group, calculated as: #Bullish – #Bearish / (#Bullish + #Bearish + #Neutral).

Price Strength Factor
The ratio of a stock’s closing price to its 200-day exponential average (DEMA).

Price to Book Factor
The ratio of a stock’s current price divided by its book value per share, as of the latest quarter.

Price to Earnings (P/E)
The ratio of a stock’s current price divided by its earnings per share, as of the latest quarter.

Price to Sales Factor
The ratio of a stock’s Market Cap plus long-term debt divided by sales, over the past 12 months.

Price Trend Rate of Change (ROC) Factor
The 42-day change in divergence from the stocks 200-day exponential average (DEMA).

Projected P/E Factor
Current price / mean analyst EPS estimate for the next fiscal year.
